Kentucky football hands Ole Miss football a win because college kickers, man.

College kickers can never be trusted, as they handed Kentucky football a brutal home loss.

The Kentucky Wildcats tied the game up at 35 late in the fourth quarter vs. the Ole Miss Rebels. In the first overtime period, Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson scampered to 10-yard pay dirt. The only problem was placekicker Matt Ruffolo missed the chip shot PAT. Ole Miss’ Matt Corral would find Elijah Moore for six on then next possession and Luke Logan hit the game-winning PAT.

Lane Kiffin has his first SEC win at Ole Miss thanks to college kickers.

Kentucky is now 0-2 on the season after falling on the road to the Auburn Tigers in Week 4. They got hosed on a call late in the first half on what should have been a touchdown. Auburn picked it off on the next play, but didn’t hit pay dirt because of a blatant targeting call. Now at 0-2, Big Blue Nation is firmly ready for basketball season, as John Calipari’s team will not disappoint them.

For Kiffin, though his Rebels got blown out at home last week to the Florida Gators, Ole Miss responded well in a winnable SEC road game to get its first victory of the season. Ole Miss may be a year or so away from being competitive, but they got the first win of the Kiffin era under their belt. As for Kentucky, this might be the start of a long football season for Mark Stoops’ team.
