The Boston College Eagles looked good in week one but no-so-good in Week 2, so which team shows up against the North Carolina Tarheels?

It has been three weeks since the North Carolina Tar Heels have taken the field but in their last game, they were winners over the Syracuse Orange in a matchup that was tightly contested until North Carolina separated themselves in the fourth quarter.

In the win over the Orange, North Carolina had a healthy dose of both the pass and the run game which combined for 463 yards and 31 points. The Tar Heels defense was strong as well, holding Syracuse to just six points and 202 yards of total offense. And to go along with one interception, the North Carolina defense recorded seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hurries.

The Boston College Eagles opened their season with an impressive 26 to 6 win over Duke. The Eagles offense was powered by a dominant passing attack led by transfer quarterback, Phil Jurkovec, who passed for 300 yards, two touchdowns, and finished with an 83.4 QBR. And while their defense bent, it did not break, as they allowed 351 total yards but forced five interceptions. However, this surprising performance was almost all for nothing as the Eagles had to rally from a two-score deficit in the latter part of the second half against Texas State, winning the game 24 to 21.

Boston College has all the makings of a team to pull off the upset over North Carolina, who is coming off a three-week bye that could be more costly than it is helpful. Can the Eagles pull off the upset? Or does North Carolina handle business on the road?

Prediction: In four weeks of college football, we’ve only seen North Carolina play four quarters worth of football and only about one of those quarters did they look like they had everything going on both sides of the ball. It is important that they don’t stumble out of the gates in this one as Boston College is built for an upset. But that will not be the case as quarterback Sam Howell and the rest of the Tar Heels offense will be ready to go. The Eagles keep within distance but stall late in the game, preventing any kind of a comeback. Three weeks later and the Tar Heels are 2-0 to start the season.

Score: North Carolina 34, Boston College 17
