Texas football fans got ‘fire Tom Herman’ trending after TCU loss
Texas football is still not back and after blowing a home game vs. TCU, fans are calling for head coach Tom Herman to be fired.
Texas was seeking their first 3-0 start since 2012. It didn’t happen as the Longhorns blew an opportunity to beat TCU in their own stadium to fall to 2-1 and effectively eliminate them from the College Football Playoff. And with Oklahoma already suffering a loss, the Big 12 will likely be watching the playoff from their homes this year and Texas football fans want Tom Herman fired.
It was an ugly game with a myriad of penalties on both sides but TCU quarterback Max Duggan ran in for the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. But it was the TCU defense that made the biggest play of the game by forcing and recovering a fumble from Keaontay Ingram on the doorstep of the goal line in the closing minutes.
This came after Ingram did all the heavy lifting to get Texas on the precipice of the end zone, but it was the call by Herman to force-feed Ingram after two long runs on the previous two plays. Ingram was clearly gasses and with Sam Ehlinger a battering ram of a quarterback, it should have been his Heisman hopeful under center to batter it in.
Of course, hindsight being 20/20 won’t change the fact that Texas football suffered an inexcusable loss when Herman was soundly outcoached by TCU’s Gary Patterson.
And with that Texas football loss, Longhorns fans have seen enough of Herman and want him fired.
Twitter roasted Texas football coach Tom Herman after the Longhorns lost to TCU
These are damaging for Herman who looked like a promising up-and-coming coach after leaving Ohio State and guiding Houston. But he hasn’t found that level of success in Austin.
Texas football fans have run out of patience with Herman.

Texas is not going to fire Herman for this loss despite the fans wishing it would happen. Unless Texas loses in embarrassing fashion to Oklahoma and suffers a couple more losses, it’s unlikely Herman will be fired in this weird 2020 season.
However, he’s gotta be feeling the heat under his seat and the pressure to win at a program that’s desperate to be back to their old winning ways.
