3 players Cowboys wish were still on the roster
Sunday’s rough showing against the Cleveland Browns feels like a new low for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
Things just feel like they’re going from bad to worse for the Dallas Cowboys. Entering the weekend at a lowly 1-2, they were absolutely dominated from start to finish by the Cleveland Browns in Dallas on Sunday.
This team just doesn’t have a winning attitude, and new head coach Mike McCarthy is already under plenty of fire for how the team is performing. With that being said, there are certainly some former Dallas studs McCarthy would love to have on the roster right now.
Defensive end Robert Quinn
One of the biggest issues with the Dallas Cowboys defense thus far this season has been opposing quarterbacks simply having too much time to scan the field. When Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are able to score 31 points in the first half against Dallas, you know that’s worrisome.
With that being said, how much of a beast would Robert Quinn be for this team right now? The former Cowboy is now with the Chicago Bears and has been a force like normal, as the man was born to record sacks. He only spent one year with Dallas in 2019, but he was a monster in the trenches.
Last season, the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Quinn posted 11.5 sacks. That was the second-highest total of his career. Back in 2013, he recorded a mind-boggling 19 sacks while with the Rams. He signed with Chicago during the offseason and is already making stellar plays for the team’s defense.
While Quinn is making moves in Chicago, Dallas’ defense continues to struggle each week. Quinn would no doubt have been able to make a major difference for the squad this year had the Cowboys been able to bring him back. Fans are left to wonder, what could have been?
