LeBron James makes more postseason history in Game 3

LeBron James moved up on yet another all-time leaderboard Sunday night.

LeBron James entered play Sunday night ready to make NBA playoff history and it all had to do with how well he shares the ball in addition to his scoring.

James entered the night needing one assist to tie John Stockton for second all-time in playoff assists. The Los Angeles Lakers star passed Stockton early on in the game and finished the night with eight assists.

LeBron James sets another top mark

Losing Game 3 is all James is going to care about Sunday night. But as time goes on it will become more and more impressive how he is able to put up such big numbers on a nightly basis in the postseason.

James is already the NBA’s all-time leader in playoff scoring. In fact, he is the only player to ever reach 6,000 playoff points and is already well over 7,000. He ranks sixth in playoff rebounds and is now second in assists. Seeing his line from Sunday of 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists is nothing out of the ordinary.

Former Lakers legend Magic Johnson has the most assists in NBA playoff history with 2,346. James could realistically overtake that mark if he continues playing at his current pace for the next four or five years. That may be a lot to ask of someone his age, but it is impossible to count LeBron out given the fact he is still playing at such an elite level.

James is still carrying the Lakers and is now in the midst of an actual series after the Heat’s win in Game 3. No one should be shocked to see that even in a losing effort, James made more history.
