Trevor Bauer doesn’t rule out signing with Astros
On Twitter, Trevor Bauer made it clear he wouldn’t rule out joining the Houston Astros if the team were to put the right offer on the table.
Where will prized free agent Trevor Bauer end up playing next season? That’s a question baseball fans everywhere can’t wait to be answered. After finishing things up with the Cincinnati Reds this campaign, Bauer is now available for every team out there to pursue.
So, what if things resulted in him making a move to the AL West to join the Houston Astros? While it doesn’t seem like the most sensible connection, Bauer himself made it clear on Twitter that he wouldn’t rule out suiting up for Houston if the dollars were right.
Trevor Bauer could end up signing with the Houston Astros if they make a head-turning offer
Whoever ends up signing Bauer will be getting a standout hurler, as the veteran continues to dazzle whenever he’s on the mound. In this shortened 60-game season, Bauer went 5-4 with a sensational 1.73 ERA. Had he actually been given some run support from the Reds, he would have had a much better win-loss record.
Regardless, he’s now looking for a new home and his phone will be ringing non-stop this offseason with clubs looking to bring him in. While Astros haters out there would hate to see him head to Houston, they’d be foolish not to reach out. Bauer is an incredible talent, regardless of how much he’s trolled Houston this season. Baseball is a business.
It remains to be seen if the Astros are interested in signing him, but if they decide to call him, there’s no chance Bauer won’t listen to what kind of offer they’re ready to present him. We’ll just have to wait and see how his free agency plays out.
