Athletics vs. Astros MLB live stream reddit for Game 1 of ALDS
The Astros and Athletics begin their ALDS Monday afternoon in Los Angeles.
The traditional MLB postseason begins Monday with an ALDS matchup between the Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics. Both teams managed to advance past the initial best-of-three series and will now square off at the neutral site of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The Astros finished the regular season with a losing record but had no problem taking down the Minnesota Twins in two games. The Athletics had a tougher opponent in the Chicago White Sox and managed to win in three games. Both teams got a few days off and now begin a series that will have zero off-days until it is over.
What to watch for in Game 1
The top storyline here is the fact both teams played each other 10 times during the regular season. The A’s took that series 7-3 en route to winning the American League West division.
Chris Bassitt is on the mound in Game 1 for Oakland. He had a great game against the White Sox when he went seven innings, allowing one earned run in what ended up being a 5-3 victory to keep the season alive.
The Astros will have Lance McCullers Jr. on the mound. Zack Greinke started Game 1 against Minnesota for Houston, but only lasted four innings. The Astros still easily took that game 4-1.
One thing to keep in mind this series is Houston returning to Dodger Stadium. That is the site of where the Astros won the World Series in 2017 and nothing would drive Dodgers fans more insane than for the hated team to win another series in the ballpark, even if it is against the A’s.
