It’s time to put some respect on the Cleveland Browns’ name

The Cleveland Browns are an impressive 3-1 on the year after taking down the Dallas Cowboys, but are they for real?

Are these Cleveland Browns for real? After getting demolished by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. and Co. have gone on an impressive run, recording three consecutive victories.

They improved their record to 3-1 on Sunday following the impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys, where the offense was simply unstoppable. The questions begs, though. Is this team really that good?

Cleveland Browns need some respect on their name

What has really stood out for the Browns in the last three weeks has been the play of the offense. After looking sluggish in the season-opening loss to the Ravens in mid-September, the Browns have averaged more than 39 points in their last three games. This included their head-turning showing against Dallas in Week 4.

In that 49-38 victory over the Cowboys, the Browns scored 31 points in the first half. On the day, Mayfield was efficient throwing the rock for 165 yards and two scores. The ground game was superb, as Cleveland finished with more than 300 rushing yards. Of course, Nick Chubb going on Injured Reserve is a blow, but Kareem Hunt has looked strong when given the rock.

Then of course there’s Beckham. In Week 4, he caught two touchdowns from Mayfield and then also raced his way for a long score in the fourth quarter to put the nail in the coffin for Dak Prescott and Dallas. Kevin Stefanski clearly isn’t afraid to open up the playbook, which is fun for Browns fans who enjoy their stars making electric plays.

While it’s always going to be easy to doubt the Browns due to their rough history, this team looks like they’re pretty dang good right now. Not taking them seriously heading into a Sunday would be a major mistake.
