Stolen base advantage gives Padres the first run of Game 1 against Dodgers.

When the two teams with the best records in MLB square off, fireworks are pretty much guaranteed. That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday when the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres faced off in Arlington, TX for Game 1.

The teams went nearly four scoreless innings until Austin Nola hit a single allowing Will Myers, who had just stolen a base, to advance to home scoring the first run for the Padres.

Mike Clevinger removed from the game in the second inning

It wasn’t looking all that great for the Padres as their starter, Mike Clevinger, was forced out of the game two pitches into the second inning after a change in his velocity. At press time there was no update to his status other than he was being seen by the trainers.

There’s still plenty of time for the Dodgers to earn more runs and close out the game with a win.

Game 2 takes place on Wednesday from Arlington, TX.

Next. Angel Hernandez is back for the NLDS and Padres and Dodgers fans should be terrified. dark
