The Alabama and Ole Miss football game scheduled for Saturday could be rescheduled due to the impending threat posed by Hurricane Delta.
Saturday’s reunion between Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin could be pushed back or expedited due to the threat of Hurricane Delta.
With the category four storm closing in on the area, potential dates are being eyed in the event the game needs to be moved off the Saturday kick, according to Matt Zenitz.
The game could be moved up to be played on Friday or it could be pushed back a date to Sunday. It hasn’t been ruled out that Saturday could still be the day for the game. In short, the two sides are keeping their options open in the event the 5 p.m. CT start time in Oxford on Saturday is not going to work out.
There are three options being looked at as alternative dates for the Alabama-Ole Miss game because of Hurricane Delta — Friday, Sunday and later in the year. Playing Saturday still remains a possibility, too.

"I don't think we'll know until tomorrow for sure," Lane Kiffin said.
Hurricane Delta could force Alabama and Ole Miss to play at a different date
Friday is typically reserved for high school football so the only ones upset about a move to that night could be the high school players, parents and fans taking in the Friday Night Lights across the state. It would be a departure from the usual, but in 2020, being adaptable is a good trait.
Sunday would be highly unusual, but considering Alabama and Mississippi don’t have NFL franchises, I doubt either fan base would be too upset about watching their team on Sunday.
Regardless of when the game is played, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be moved back beyond this week, which would present some challenges logistically in a year when COVID-19 is already presenting plenty of those.
So fans of the Crimson Tide and Rebels will either get their game a day early or a day later but the primary concern is everyone in and around the area is safe from Hurricane Delta.
LSU’s game with Missouri was moved from Baton Rouge to Columbia on Tuesday.
