Cody Bellinger hit a no-doubt home run in Game 2 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres.

Out of all the divisions series this MLB postseason, the matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres was the most exciting of the bunch. The Dodgers were able to pull off the 5-1 victory against the Padres, all while tallying just four hits, with the first coming in the sixth inning. But the Dodgers made it count when it mattered most, according to outfielder Cody Bellinger. If anything, Game 2 of the NLDS has been the exact opposite of their first meeting.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Bellinger showed his patience at the plate by smacking a solo home run to dead center field of Globe Life Park off pitcher Zach Davies to extend Los Angeles’ lead to 4-1 over San Diego.

Dodgers asserting their dominance over the Padres so far

Many viewed the Padres as the Dodgers’ biggest competition in the postseason. So far, it’s been all Los Angeles, who took advantage of San Diego’s dire pitching situation.

Prior to the start of the NLDS, the Padres received great news when it came to trade deadline acquisition Mike Clevinger. In the end of the regular-season, Clevinger went down with an elbow strain, leaving his status for the postseason in serious doubt. But, he was just cleared for the start of the NLDS. However, he left in the second inning of Game 1 with what was determined to be elbow inflammation. That forced the Padres to use nine pitchers in the game, and the Dodgers were able to capitalize late.

The Dodgers were patient at the plate, but they’ve been extremely aggressive on Wednesday night at the expense of Davies.
