Dodgers vs Padres MLB live stream reddit for Game 2 of NLDS
The Dodgers kept the Padres lineup in check in Game 1 of the NLDS.
The San Diego Padres entered Game 1 of the NLDS with plenty of hype and Mike Clevinger back on the mound. He lasted 24 pitches before leaving with an injury and another bullpen game was in order.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were relatively quiet against the bullpen until a botched play at first base gave the team its first run of the game. That tied it at 1-1 in the fifth inning and a four-run sixth inning essentially called it a game.
What to watch for in Game 2
The Padres were given a huge change of plans when Clevinger left after an inning of work in Game 1. Eight other pitchers were used and that means Zach Davies has a ton of pressure on him to give the bullpen a break.
Davies only lasted two innings in his Game 2 start last week against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Padres were able to win that game 11-9 after Davies’ short outing. That may not be possible this time around with Clayton Kershaw on the mound for the Dodgers.
Kershaw is known for his October struggles. Yet he went eight strong innings of scoreless baseball last week against the Milwaukee Brewers. This Padres lineup is far more talented, however, still only scored one run Tuesday night. Was it nerves? That is possible and the task only gets tougher against a future Hall of Famer in Kershaw.
