With wins over the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders in the last two weeks, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are proving that it’s not just silly teams that they can topple. The first two wins of the season over the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins could be perceived as a mirage, but that chatter should probably cease.

Allen’s oft-criticized completion percentage has ballooned in the right direction by a rags-to-riches twelve percent. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is proof that his development is in full force. The Bills traded for Minnesota Vikings wideout Stefon Diggs last offseason, and so far, the trade is paying dividends for both teams.

Diggs’ production is benefiting Allen’s development. Minnesota selected LSU’s Justin Jefferson as Diggs’ replacement, and he has the most receiving yards by a rookie through the first four games of a season in 17 years.

The tests for Josh Allen will continue. Although, to this point, it appears his maturation is a vehicle to propel the Bills to the postseason. Maybe even a first-round bye.
