Nick Saban had the right answer to Lane Kiffin’s trash talk ahead of Alabama’s matchup with Ole Miss.
Lane Kiffin can talk all the trash he wants, Nick Saban will always have an answer.
This week, as the Alabama head coach and his former offensive coordinator prepare to battle, Kiffin playfully poked fun at Saban’s age.
The thing Kiffin needs to remember is that old adage: “Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance.”

“I think he’s probably right. I wouldn’t disagree with him. What I would ask is when he’s my age, what’s he going to be like?” Saban responded to Kiffin’s comments, even cracking a smile while he did so.
“I still pride myself on my ability to cover I just don’t think I could cover him.”
Even Lane Kiffin had to give Nick Saban props for his trash talk response
Lane Kiffin started the banter (as usual) and his response to Saban on Twitter goes to show the respect he has for his former employer. He quoted the tweet with a GOAT emoji. He also celebrated the chuckle he got out of the usually stoic Saban.
Kiffin has never beaten Saban head-on. Their only meeting as head coaches came back in 2009 when Kiffin’s Tennessee Volunteers challenged the Crimson Tide as close as anyone that season. Alabama won the game 12-10 en route to an undefeated national championship season.
Ole Miss is a 24-point underdog to Alabama, so it’ll take quite a bit of Kiffin magic to pull off the upset. At least the Rebels are coming off a big performance from quarterback Matt Corral, who had four touchdowns in their 42-41 victory over Kentucky.
