Eagles cornerback Darius Slay is looking forward to shutting up Steelers fans if they boo him on Sunday

This Sunday’s matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers will be a bit louder than other games hosted at Heinz Field this year.

Thanks to new coronavirus guidelines, the Steelers will allow 5,500 fans to attend the game in person, which means opposing players will have to prepare to hear their boos.

For Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, that’s A-okay.

“I might be a little more excited when I hear a boo for the first time when I run out of the tunnel,” Slay said. ‘This might be the first time I like getting booed.”

Mostly he’s looking forward to the moment after a big play when he can silence the crowd.

The Eagles have bigger things to worry about than just some crowd noise. They are 1-2-1 this season and will travel to Pittsburgh as touchdown underdogs.

For what its worth, Philadelphia has improved as the season has gone on. They lost to Washington on the opening weekend of the season before being slapped around by the LA Rams in Week 2. They managed a 23-23 tie against the Bengals in Week 3 and followed that up with a 25-20 win over the 49ers on Sunday.

The Steelers, meanwhile, have enjoyed life with Ben Roethlisberger back behind center. They have won all three of their game so far, dropping the Giants, Broncos and Texans before heading into a bye week.

The Eagles will hope they can continue to improve their performance with Slay leading the way on defense. Thus far in his first season with the team, the three-time Pro Bowler has proven worthy of the trade from the Lions earlier this spring. He has given up 15 catches for 153 yards in four games.
