4. Eric Ebron excels in the Battle of Pennsylvania

Ebron has shown incremental improvement within the Steelers offense during his maiden voyage in Pittsburgh. Two weeks ago, he hauled in five catches for 57 yards and a score against the embattled Houston Texans.

Last week, though, the Steelers had an unexpected, pandemic-related bye week. Ebron had to hit the pause button on his progress, but the Steelers still sit as an undefeated host to the cross-state rival Eagles this weekend.

With a record of 1-2-1 (.375), the Eagles are atop the NFC East, if you can stomach that paradox. Philadelphia upended a depleted San Francisco team on the road in Week 4 and hope to build on the steam of topping the reigning conference champions.

That win does not suddenly equivocate competence on behalf of the Eagles, however. Quarterback Carson Wentz is still making curious decisions, and his wide receivers are essentially anonymously-named men. Wentz owns a 66.9 passer rating through the first quarter of the NFL season — which effectively nominates him as the worst quarterback in the NFL by the numbers.

Wentz’s’ futility notwithstanding, this Pennsylvania versus Pennsylvania matchup should be competitive. The Eagles give up the third-most fantasy PPR points in 2020 to opposing tight ends. We, therefore, select Ebron as a potent benefactor of the Eagles doldrums.
