Jimmy Graham makes absurd one-handed TD catch to end first half (Video)
Jimmy Graham’s one-handed touchdown catch put the Bears up over the Buccaneers
It’s been a while since Jimmy Graham was awesome. But, boy, was he awesome for the Chicago Bears second touchdown on Thursday Night Football against the Buccaneers.
His touchdown catch in the final minute of the first half was a thing of beauty.
That’s just outstanding from every angle.
Jimmy Graham is still capable of being very excellent
It was fitting for the Bears to score in spectacular fashion like that. They’d been asleep for most of the game until the final two minutes when they turned on the jets out of nowhere.
The Buccaneers had been in complete control, building a 13-0 lead. The only thing that stopped the game from being a route was Tom Brady and company having to settle for a couple of field goals. The Bears made them pay for that.
With 1:48 left in the half, David Montgomery punched in a score from three yards out to give Chicago some momentum going into halftime. Had they gone in 13-7 they probably would have felt pretty good, all things considered.
Then, running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn took a huge hit over the middle and fumbled the ball, giving the Bears another possession and good field position after review. Nick Foles finished off the four-play drive by locating Graham in the end zone. Really, that catch was all about Graham getting the better of his defender and making an outstanding play.
It was the second grab for Graham on the night, tallying 25 yards. In 2020 he now has 14 catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns. That’s as many scores as he had in 16 games with Green Bay last year.
Maybe this is a sign of good things to come for Graham and the Bears. If nothing else it’s a highlight to remember.
