Why not show off your best pitch of the season in a 7-0 blowout?

The Braves acquired Greene from the Detroit Tigers at the 2019 Trade Deadline, as they were in dire need of bullpen help. Atlanta’s pitching staff has benefitted immensely, with Greene and Mark Melancon bolstering the back end of the bullpen. The Braves jut threw their fourth shutout of the postseason to advance to the NLCS. But first, Greene wanted to show off as a reminder that as great as Atlanta’s starting pitching has been, their bullpen might be just as elite.

That’s a clean sweep against a division rival. Nothing to see here.

For Braves star Ronald Acuña, it means true supremacy in the NL East. Acuña has incredible stats against the Marlins, yet they still choose to put him on base via the HBP. It’s a painful reminder of where Acuña stands in this rivalry, as a sacrificial lamb of sorts. But if it leads to more victories, he won’t have a problem with it long-term.

The Braves are just as capable as any team in baseball right now. Greene is another weapon they have at the back end, should any team dare to get involved in a close game with this group. So far, his services haven’t been too necessary.

Next. Braves’ pitching staff is shutting out everybody in October. dark
