DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 9

The DraftKings EuroLeague slate is big on our Friday with six games including the one that was originally scheduled for yesterday. This is a forward-heavy slate that is heavy on value from St. Peterburg. There are dozens of ways to go in this one, but a few that I really like.

Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. My picks were mostly right, but I didn’t have the right combination in any lineups. I was completely off of Simon and he was one of the highest scorers on the slate. The Fenerbahce backcourt with the Valencia frontcourt did fairly well. If only I would have had Wilbekin in that lineup! So it goes sometimes.

We have a few injuries to keep track of today. Let’s check that before we go any further.

Out: Janis Timma (coronavirus), Vladimir Micov (elbow), Stefan Jovic (ankle), Kevin Punter (leg), Jordan Mickey (coronavirus), Pierre Jackson (undisclosed), Kyle Kuric (head), Livio Jean-Charles (leg), Joffrey Lauvergne (coronavirus), Eleftherios Bochoridis (undisclosed), Evgeny Voronov (coronavirus).

Questionable: Alexey Shved (undisclosed), Greg Monroe (undisclosed), Malcolm Thomas (undisclosed), Zoran Dragic (hamstring).

It’s really difficult to build here since we have no clue what is wrong with Shved or Monroe. Shved is one of the best scorers in the EuroLeague, so if he plays, he’s always worth a look. The issue then becomes price and if he is anywhere close to 100%. Sadly, we have nothing to go on.

Friday went better than Thursday last week, but now we have some kind of baseline reading for each team. We’re not just guessing at who is going to play.

Often early in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
