FanDuel Single Game Contest College Football Picks: Clemson vs. Miami
By Hans Geevers
This Saturday night, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with a clash of ACC teams. Let’s take a look at this single game contest from a fantasy football perspective!
Before I discuss my FanDuel player picks for Saturday night’s game, let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game contest.
You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The FanDuel MVP accumulates 1.5 times the standard FanDuel points value.
The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the FanDuel single game contest, I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
Here are my FanDuel player selections for Saturday night’s ACC contest!
MVP
Trevor Lawrence, QB $15,000
The likely number one pick in next year’s NFL draft has been putting on quite a show from a statistical perspective this season. To be more specific, through three games, Lawrence is currently ranked 12th in the nation in total passing yards (848), seventh in completion percentage (73.33%), and eighth in total passing touchdowns (7).
Let’s now turn our attention to the defense that Lawrence will be facing on Saturday. The Miami Hurricanes have played three games this season. Upon my review of the three offenses that Miami has played, I came away less than impressed. I am trying to be kind here. Let’s just say that Trevor Lawrence is without a doubt exponentially better with regard to overall talent level than any quarterback the Hurricanes have faced this season.
Flex
Travis Etienne, RB $15,000
Through three games this season, the Tigers senior running back has 243 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Etienne has nine receptions, 172 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. Those impressive statistics have resulted in a total of 64 FanDuel points this season! That is an average of 21.33 FanDuel points a game.
I should also mention that rain is currently forecast to occur during this football game. If that is the case, Etienne could get more offensive touches than usual on Saturday night.
Cam’Ron Harris, RB $11,500
Hurricanes running back Cam’Ron Harris is currently ranked 11th in the country in total rushing yards (311). Additionally, Harris has six rushing touchdowns.
Hurricanes quarterback D’Eriq King has also targeted Harris as a receiver out of the backfield often this season. Through three games, Harris has nine receptions. It should also be noted that Harris has averaged 23 FanDuel points a game.
Brevin Jordan, TE $11,000
The talented junior is clearly is a vital part of the Miami offense. The data does not lie. Through three games, Jordan has 15 receptions, 212 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. In my opinion, Jordan will continue to be highly involved in the team’s offense on Saturday night.
Braden Galloway, TE $7,000
For my last flex play, I am going to roll with Clemson tight end Braden Galloway. So far this season, Galloway has 7 receptions and 77 receiving yards. At the low FanDuel price of only $7,000, I think Galloway is worth the risk/reward play at the flex spot.
