It’s rough being a Texas football fan in general, but add in the 2020 element, and here you go.
2020 was a year of big expectations for all of us, especially the Texas Longhorns. This was their best chance at being back in years. Unfortunately for the Longhorns fanbase, 2020 is just another lost season. Seeing star quarterback Sam Ehlinger get picked in the end zone in the fourth overtime to lose gave us this moment that is now officially deemed the definitive meme of 2020.

It was a must-win for both teams, and Texas came up short in four overtimes.
The amount of pressure on Texas head coach Tom Herman at this time is mounting. This was a team we expected would meet Oklahoma for a second time this year in the Big 12 Championship game. Now, it doesn’t look like either of them will get to Arlington, as both the Sooners and the Longhorns have a pair conference losses before the middle part of October. It’s not going well.
The shame in it all for Texas is Ehlinger played well enough to win this game for his team. Yes, the pick was unfortunate, but you have to wonder how Herman gets his team to respond after a brutal loss like this. It may be a lost season for Oklahoma, but then again, this is Spencer Rattler‘s first season as the starter. For Ehlinger, this looks to be his final year playing ball in Austin.
