Man in actual bubble celebrates bubble Lakers NBA championship win
By Scott Rogust
One Los Angeles Lakers fans went galaxy brain on the rest of the fanbase while celebrating the team’s NBA Championship victory.
After 172 games at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, the NBA bubble has officially ceased operations on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 106-93 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win their first Larry O’Brien Trophy since 2010 and their 17th in franchise history.
As we’ve seen from the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Stanley Cup victory, fans back home began pouring in the streets to celebrate the big win, albeit without the proper social distancing. Well, one Lakers fan went galaxy brain on the rest of his colleagues.
With the streets of Los Angeles starting to get filled with eager fans, one man decided he would celebrate by putting himself in an actual bubble!
You have to admire this Lakers fan’s creativity
While his fellow fans of the “Lake Show” donned face masks around him, this individual decided to play things extra cautious. Let’s not forget that we’re still living in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic that’s not going away anytime soon. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. This man just went above and beyond everyone else, and you can’t help but respect that!
The Lakers entered the 2019-20 season as heavy favorites to win the NBA championship after the team made a blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis with the purpose of pairing him alongside superstar LeBron James. Los Angeles became more motivated earlier this calendar year after the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, the face of the franchise. They wanted to win it all for the “Black Mamba” and the grieving Lakers fanbase, and they accomplished just that.
James won the NBA Finals MVP unanimously after averaging 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the field in the six-game series.
Celebrate Lakers fans, but please do it responsibly. Wear your masks, socially distance, and if you happen to have one, wear a protective bubble to ensure you are extra safe.
