Does this mean Mike Nolan is out of the doghouse?
Overreaction Monday is a known commodity in the NFL, but Nolan’s been dealing with the after-effects of overreaction Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It never ends with this guy, and while he deserves some of the criticism thrown his way, the point remains that until the big names on Dallas’ defense step up, the scheme can only do so much.
Enter Sunday’s game against the Giants. Facing a 17-3 deficit to lowly New York, the Cowboys answered in a hurry thanks to a Zeke touchdown and a defensive score. The scoop-and-score, forced by ridiculous pressure on Daniel Jones, is notable given Nolan was on the hot seat entering Week 5.

Anthony Brown picked up the fumble and evened the score in a flash
Dallas is by no means out of the woods just yet, but to answer in such quick fashion speaks volumes about this team. The Cowboys knew they were in trouble, and understood they were the superior team. So what was holding them back?
If only it could be so simple. Dallas’ defensive pressure has been vastly superior this week than it had been in previous games. Jones is having a tough time getting comfortable in the pocket, and with his lack of mobility, the Cowboys should have a field day.
The question remains, though: Can the Cowboys finish what they started?
