1. 54. Scouting Report. Carson Wentz. Philadelphia Eagles. player. Pick Analysis. QB

Wentz has seen most of his top receivers get injured and his offensive line reduced to ash over the course of the season, but that is no excuse for some truly puzzling decisions. While Wentz made quite an effort in the second half against the Steelers’ vaunted defense, his awful interception in the third quarter and inability to connect with anyone reliably outside of Travis Fulgham did little to ease a fanbase that is starting to get a bit impatient with their star quarterback.

The Eagles don’t even have to look far to find their next replacement, as they wouldn’t have burned a second-round pick on Jalen Hurts if they didn’t think that he had at least some potential to eventually take over the starting spot. While Wentz might think that his humungous contract and being able to use the poor line and receivers as excuses makes him invincible, the Eagles continuing to disappoint against the best teams in the league has to at least get Doug Pederson thinking about making the switch to the younger, more dynamic Hurts.
