Previous: . New York Giants. 28. team. 31. . 0-5

Giants’ head coach Joe Judge was looking for his first win as Big Blue headed south to take on the defensively-challenged Cowboys. And early in the second quarter, New York owned a 17-3 lead thanks to an Evan Engram TD run and a Kyler Fackrell INT return for a score. But it would eventually come apart as the Giants would soon trail, 24-20, by intermission. And the defense couldn’t stop Cowboys’ backup Andy Dalton late in the fourth quarter.

1-3. Previous: . Detroit Lions. 27. team. 50.

Matt Patricia’s club headed into its off week with losses in three of their first four games and in each of those setbacks, the Lions owned a double-digit lead. And now since opening 2019 with a 2-0-1 record, Detroit is a horrid 2-15 in its last 17 outings. The defense has once again been a disappointment and is allowing a whopping 170.3 yards per game on the ground. And Patricia’s pass rush has yet to get untracked with only five sacks in four games.

10. . 1-4. Previous: . Houston Texans. 26. team

The Texans made a head coaching change last week as Bill O’Brien’s is out (via Sarah Barshop of ESPN) and veteran Romeo Crennel is now the team’s latest sideline leader. They hosted a Jaguars’ team that was riding a three-game losing streak and Houston would make it five straight wins in this series as Deshaun Watson threw for 359 yards and three scores, albeit with a pair of interceptions. The Texans’ offense rolled up 486 total yards in their victory.

. 2-3. Previous: . San Francisco 49ers. 25. team. 42

Both of the defending NFC champions wins this year came on the road at MetLife Stadium. And all three of the 49ers’ defeats have been at home, including Sunday’s humbling loss to the Dolphins. Jimmy Garoppolo returned to the starting lineup but struggled mightily, sacked three times while fumbling loss and throwing a pair of INTs. Of course, C.J. Beathard didn’t fare much better as Kyle Shanahan’s club gave up 436 total yards in a shocking defeat.
