The Los Angeles Dodgers will square off against the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS.
While many questioned if the shortened 2020 season would ultimately end with a playoff race that pushed the best teams deeper into the postseason, but two of the NLās best rosters from the top down are here in the NLCS vying for another pennant. While the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to exorcise their postseason demons, the Atlanta Braves are trying to win their first championship in 25 years.
The Dodgers and Braves will lock horns in Game 1 of the 2020 NLCS from the Texas Rangersā brand new ballpark in Arlington. The winner of this series will advance to the World Series and play the winner of the Tampa Bay Rays-Houston Astros ALCS series.
What to watch for in Braves vs Dodgers Game 1
The Braves, who have ended up in the NLCS on the backs of stars like Ronald Acuna and relative unknowns like Travis dāArnaud, will start left-hander Max Fried in Game 1. In 11 regular-season starts, the rising star Fried went 7-0 with a sparkling 2.25 ERA. LAās lefty power hitters might have difficulties getting on top of Friedās curveball.
The Dodgers will counter with red-hot right-hander Walker Buehler. Buehler went just 1-0 in a strange season, but his explosive fastball and nasty breaking ball should make it difficult for Freddie Freeman to get into a groove. LA will go with the legend himself in Clayton Kershaw in Game 2, and the decision to push Kershaw to game 2 shows the confidence Dve Roberts has in Buehler.
