Austin Riley continued to make even more fans in Atlanta after he belted a beautiful homer in Game 1 of the NLCS
The Atlanta Braves are feeling hot right now and for good reason. On Monday, Atlanta took down the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of their NLCS showdown, leaving the stadium with a 5-1 victory.
Among the many highlights for the Braves, the best, no question had to be the play of slugger Austin Riley. In case you missed it, the youngster blasted a monster homer in the top of the ninth to give Atlanta a 2-1 lead. He was fired up and you can’t blame him at all for it.
Watching a different angle of his dinger, you can see just how excited Riley was to leave the yard and out his team on top.
Austin Riley came up huge for the Braves on Monday night against the Dodgers
As you can see in the video above, Riley knew that baby was gone as soon as he made contact. To make things even sweeter, he gave it a nice long stare and admired what he had just done. For the Braves, they ended up scoring three more runs in the ninth, with Marcell Ozuna delivering an RBI single and Ozzie Albies hitting a 2-run homer.
The Dodgers didn’t have any magic left in them in the bottom of the ninth and had to watch the Braves celebrate on the field with the Game 1 victory. Going back to Riley, talk about a huge moment for him. He was 0-for-3 on the night entering his last at-bat, but he made it count by sending the ball to the moon. Look for him to keep making clutch plays for Atlanta in the NLCS.
