Week 6 of the NFL season features some terrific matchups. Here are the five most interesting battles of the weekend to watch.
COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the NFL schedule, but Week 6 appears to be chocked full of intriguing matchups nonetheless. It’s setting up to be a perfect weekend to overdose on professional football.
The headline matchup of the weekend clearly occurs on Thursday night when the Bills host the Chiefs. Kansas City will look to bounce back from last week’s bizarre loss to the Raiders while Buffalo views the game as an opportunity to legitimate their status as AFC contenders.
Don’t sleep on the rest of the Week 6 slate though. The Browns and Steelers play in an early-season game that should have serious ramifications on the NFC North race. The fact that neither team likes their local rival also adds spice to the encounter.
Without delay, read on to discover the top five most interesting matchups of the weekend.
5. The Cowboys revamped offense vs. Arizona’s defense
Dak Prescott’s gruesome injury ends any hopes the Cowboys have of being Super Bowl contender. That doesn’t mean Dallas can’t grind out an NFC East title. Andy Dalton has enough talent to keep the offense on track in Prescott’s absence.
It will be particularly interesting to see how the Cowboys change their offensive philosophy on the fly. Expect Ezekiel Elliott to see a sharp uptick in his workload at the running back position. Dallas’s offensive line isn’t as good as it’s been in recent years though. That means Dalton will still need to make plays from the pocket early and often against Arizona.
This single game won’t define the rest of the Cowboys season, but they need to find a way to win to generate some momentum after the deflating injury to their franchise quarterback. That makes it an intriguing game to watch on Sunday.
