The Los Angeles Dodgers needed a win in Game 3 of the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves. What they got was a whole bunch of postseason records.
The Dodgers scored 11 runs in the first inning, one run in the second and three in the third. However, by failing to score again after the third inning, they missed out on taking over the NLCS record for runs in a postseason game, tying it at 15.
On the plus side, the 18 collective runs between the Dodgers and Braves is an NLCS record.

The explosion of runs was really a continuation of Game 2, even though the outcome of that matchup was less desirable. After the Braves went up 7-0 in the top of the seventh, LA scored seven runs to nearly pull off a comeback, losing 8-7.
The question was whether that burst of runs would bring them momentum going into Game 3. The question was answered rather thoroughly.
