Nick Saban’s daughter Kristen let us know how her dad is doing after testing positive for COVID-19.
Alabama football head coach Nick Saban and athletic director Greg Byrne are in quarantine now.
Both tested positive for the coronavirus and were informed of their positive tests on Wednesday afternoon. This comes days ahead of Alabama’s huge SEC home game vs. the Georgia Bulldogs. Though the game is expected to go on as planned, Saban will not be coaching in this game. However, his daughter Kristen Saban Setas gave us a encouraging update on her father who is asymptomatic and coaching practice through Zoom.

Will Steve Sarkisian be able to beat Kirby Smart at home in Week 7?
Saban turns 69-years-old on Halloween. Though he is in great shape, he is in the age group that is most effected by the virus. While Setas says her dad isn’t experiencing any symptoms, that’s not going to allow him to coach the Crimson Tide on Saturday vs. Georgia. It is expected offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian will be the one in charge if this game is played as it is expected to.
Though Sarkisian is an incredible offensive-minded coach and a very likely Power 5 head coaching candidate in this upcoming offseason cycle, he has to go up against former Saban disciple in the defensive-minded Kirby Smart. While no Saban disciple has ever beaten Saban, not having him coach on Saturday certainly is an advantage for Smart and his Georgia football program.
While it’s great to hear Saban is doing well, there’s no way he’s going to be able to coach Saturday.
