On Thursday night, the Tampa Bay Rays will look to eliminate the Houston Astros in Game 5 of their ALCS showdown.
The Houston Astros have lived to see another day, as the AL West powerhouse took down the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 of their ALCS battle on Wednesday night. Now down 3-1 in the series, Houston will look to once again keep their season going on Thursday.
However, the Rays of course have other ideas, with Tampa Bay looking to punch its ticket to the World Series for the first time in franchise history with a win in Game 5. Will they be able to get that job done?
What to watch for in Rays vs. Astros Game 5
Obviously, the Houston Astros will keep doing everything they can to try and keep their World Series dreams alive. Many thought they’d end up getting swept by the Rays after going down 3-0, but they stepped up big time in Game 4.
In order for them to extend things to a Game 6, the bats will need to deliver. All eyes will be on Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, George Springer, Alex Bregman and others to see if they can come up with some timely hits against Tampa Bay.
Those sluggers will need to do so against Rays starter Josh Fleming, who’s expected to take the bump on Thursday. During the regular season, Fleming was outstanding, going 5-0 with a 2.78 ERA.
