NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 6 Sunday Slates Tight Ends

T.J. Hockenson, DET at JAX ($5,300-DK/$5,700-FD)

Hockenson has been a solid target for Matthew Stafford thus far, and he’s been over 50 receiving yards in three of his first four contests. Hockenson has seen no fewer than four and as many as seven targets in each game, and considering how unpredictable tight end has been outside of elite options this season, he shapes up as a solid cost-savings selection in a favorable matchup in Week 6.

The Jaguars have had trouble stopping both the run and pass, and Jacksonville has surrendered a 22-352-4 line to tight ends, along with a 78.6 percent catch rate. Hockenson has a 75.0 percent catch rate in his own right, while the Jaguars also check in allowing the most yards (45.5) and points (3.1) per drive, furthering the athletic tight end’s prospects.

Evan Engram, NYG vs. WFT ($4,900-DK/$5,600-FD)

Engram is still to be truly unleashed this season under new coordinator Jason Garrett‘s scheme, but it’s not for lack of trying. The fourth-year tight end has a solid 32 targets through five games, and that’s with him logging a season-low two in Week 5 against the Cowboys. However, that game saw Engram get into the end zone on a reverse — an optimistic sign the Giants recognize go getting creative helps to maximize Engram’s explosiveness — and he had another TD on a fake punt called back.

Engram had seen no fewer than five targets and as many as 10 in his four other games this season, and he could be set up for success based on his Week 6 matchup. The Washington Football Team checks in having allowed a 27-341-5 line and 18.8 DK/15.5 FD points per game to tight ends thus far, while Engram is averaging a healthy 18.2 percent of the Giants’ targets, making it likely he’ll be given plenty of chances to exploit that vulnerability.
