Four Colts COVID-19 tests come back as false positives

The Colts had a COVID-19 scare this morning, but the tests came back as false positives.
The Indianapolis Colts are working from home today, as they received word that both players and staff members had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Luckily for the Colts and the league as a whole, their positive tests were later disproven, giving the Colts a clean bill of health heading into Week 6.
Adam Schefter has confirmed that one player and three members of the coaching staff had tested positive for COVID-19, but the lab reran those samples and they were found to have been false positives. Team owner Jim Irsay confirmed that their Week 6 game against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals will continue as scheduled.
The Colts will play their game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals
Indianapolis was the second team this week to have a COVID-19 scare, as the Atlanta Falcons worked remotely after defensive tackle Marlon Davidson tested positive. However, multiple positive cases were found to have also been false positives, and the Raheem Morris’ squad returned to their facility today.
Now that the Colts are confirmed to be fully healthy ahead of Week 6, they can focus on rebounding after a poor showing against the Cleveland Browns while they try to slow down Burrow and the Bengals’ offense. Look for Philip Rivers to rebound from a down week against a Bengals secondary that has not lived up to expectations so far this season.
This won’t be the last COVID-19 scare this season, but it’s certainly a positive sign that the Colts haven’t had any confirmed positives. The downside, however, is the fact that the NFL’s measures for testing have failed several NFL teams due to false positives causing genuine panic.
