DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 16
Round 4 of an interesting week of DraftKings EuroLeague action finishes up today with five games on tap. So far, this group of teams hasn’t been derailed by coronavirus, but we still have some injuries to sort through. Let’s start with that part.
Out: Alexey Shved (undisclosed), Greg Monroe (coronavirus), Janis Timma (coronavirus), Vladimir Micov (elbow), Stefan Jovic (ankle), Kevin Punter (leg), Jordan Mickey (coronavirus), Sergey Karasev (undisclosed), Janis Strelnieks (coronavirus), Yovel Zoosman (hamstring), Ahmet Duverioglu (back), Melih Mahmutoglu (calf), Evgeny Voronov (coronavirus), Semen Antonov (coronavirus), Andrei Lopatin (coronavirus).
Questionable: Anthony Randolph (undisclosed), Kyle Hines (ankle), Dairis Bertans (undisclosed), Livio Jean-Charles (leg).
It is widely believed that Randolph was just rested on Wednesday since the veteran was off to a rough start. If that’s the case, he may be back to further muddle the loaded Real Madrid frontcourt.
A report out of Moscow stated that Bertans wouldn’t play, but he came out and told a reporter that he was playing today. If he’s in, play him. The depleted Khimki team needs him.
Jean-Charles was available but didn’t play in round 3 earlier this week. I’m expecting the same status out of him here. He’s way too much of a risk with too little upside to consider using. Same with Zoran Dragic. He was available the last two rounds but did not play.
It was another low-scoring day and I was able to sneak enough to pay for one entry today. It’s not a total loss.
Often early in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
