Base cam gave us a great shot of Jose Altuve getting thrown out at second base

You hate to see Jose Altuve get thrown out at second base and get caught on base cam.

If you can put a camera inside of a football pylon, why wouldn’t you put a camera inside of a second base bag? There are so many advantages to having this angle readily available to the viewing public, but we know the sole reason it was created: To capture Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve get gunned out on a strike ’em out, throw ’em out play by a country mile.

So many bad things are happening to Jose Altuve between first and second base.

Whether he is impersonating Chuck Knoblauch throwing the ball to first base or coming up way short of stealing second base, the right side of the infield has not been Altuve’s friend in this best-of-seven series. After Michael Brantley went down swinging for strike three, Tampa Bay Rays catcher Mike Zunino fired it to shortstop Willy Adames for the easy inning-ending double play.

Houston may have won the last two games over Tampa Bay, but must win Game 6 this evening, as well as Game 7 tomorrow if the Astros plan on winning the AL pennant for the third time in four seasons. Should the Rays win either tonight or tomorrow, it will be their second AL Championship and first since 2008. They’ll face the winner of the Atlanta Braves vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Altuve coming up short of a stolen bag is the type of content baseball Twitter has created for.
