FanDuel Golf: The CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek Final Round Player Picks
By Hans Geevers
This Sunday, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with the final round of the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek. Let’s take a look at the final round slate from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I want to clearly state that this article is specifically focused on the final round contest. The final round contest is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional contest offered by FanDuel for DFS golf.
If you are not familiar with the rules for the final round contest I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
Here are my player selections for the final round of the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek.
Xander Schauffele $11,500
Xander arrives at this week’s U.S. Open on the heels of nine consecutive top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the U.S. Open last month.
It should also be noted that Schauffele’s average score in his last six final rounds played on the PGA Tour is 68.10.
Tyrrell Hatton $10,900
Hatton won the BMW Championship on the European Tour last week and the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour in March.
As of this writing (Friday evening), through two rounds of play at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek, Hatton is in second place with a score of 11 under par.
Sungjae Im $9,900
The 22 year old Korean has been rather consistent with posting quality final round scores on the PGA Tour over the course of the last two months. In his last six final rounds played on the PGA Tour, Im has a final round scoring average of 68.16.
Russell Henley $8,500
Henley has three top 25 finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including a ninth place result at the Wyndham Championship.
When playing final round DFS golf contests, I like to look at key player statistics for the event as it is ongoing. Having stated that, let’s take a look at how Henley is performing in relation to the field. After two rounds of play at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek, in relation to the field, Henley is currently ranked fifth in strokes gained approach, second in strokes gained putting, and third in strokes gained ball striking.
Jason Kokrak $8,500
Kokrak has four top 17 finishes in his last five events on the PGA Tour, including a 17th place result at the U.S. Open.
Through two rounds of play at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek, Kokrak is in a tie for fifth place with a score of eight under par.
Kevin Streelman $7,700
The 41 year old American has four top ten finishes on the PGA Tour in the last 12 months, including two second place results (2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the 2020 Travelers Championship).
After two rounds of play at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek, in relation to the field, Streelman is currently ranked second in strokes gained off the tee and 12th in strokes gained tee to green.
