Derrick Henry leaves Texans stunned on 94-yard touchdown run

Derrick Henry broke off on a 94-yard touchdown run.
The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans have been trading haymakers for the entirety of their Sunday afternoon matchup, but the Titans almost scored a knockout punch thanks to their running game. While Ryan Tannehill has three touchdown passes today, it’s been Derrick Henry that provided the biggest highlight of the afternoon.
Henry ended up giving the Titans a lead over the Texans in the fourth by ripping off a 94-yard touchdown run. A defense that is missing Bernardrick McKinney just felt the full wrath of Henry when he gets a full head of steam, as he was barely touched on a run that spanned almost the full length of the field.
Derrick Henry has a habit of breaking off on long runs
While it’s easy to envision Henry as a 250-pound bulldozer, his speed makes him one of the game’s biggest home run threats. Between this and his record-tying 99-yard run against the Jaguars in 2018, Henry is a threat to take it to the house on every play. That run put Henry over 200 yards for the game, but some botched field goals from Stephen Gostkowski has the Titans trying to snag a win away from the Texans.
Anthony Weaver’s defense has had a difficult time stopping the run, and Henry steamrolling down the middle isn’t the best medicine for a 1-4 defense that is looking for some consistency on that end if they want to turn this season around.
Deshaun Watson and the red-hot Houston offense are giving Tennessee everything they can handle today, so a Henry run won’t be enough to single-handedly give them the win. However, they will have to contend with a Titans offense that is currently firing on all cylinders, which could be difficult to slow down.
