Derrick Henry calls game and truck sticks through Texans defense in OT (Video)
Derrick Henry and the Titans cannot be stopped
How do you stop a freight train from five yards? That was the challenge facing the Houston Texans and, unsurprisingly, they failed as Derrick Henry clinched a wild overtime win for the Tennessee Titans.
Needing a touchdown to move to 5-0 after winning the overtime coin toss and marching down the field thanks largely to a 53-yard catch and run from Henry, the Titans put the game on the back of their star running back on third and goal.
Henry lined up to take a direct snap and did not waste his opportunity, finding the hole and bulldozing a pair of Texans defense to barrel into the end zone and claim a 42-36 win, ensuring an incredible effort from Deshaun Watson and the Houston offense was in vain.
While Houston now looks to be playing for pride after dropping to 1-5, the Titans are silencing the doubters who expected them to regress following last season’s improbable run to the AFC Championship game.
The Titans are 5-0, with the Colts their only challengers in the AFC South at 4-2.
Next for Tennessee, a fellow unbeaten team in the form of the 5-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers boast a fearsome defensive front but, after his 264 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns against the Texans, it is fair to wonder if even Pittsburgh can stop Henry from continuing to dominate.
