Doug Pederson must make the call and bench quarterback Carson Wentz in favor of rookie second-round pick Jalen Hurts.

What in the world has happened to Carson Wentz? Once destined to be a superstar quarterback in this league, the young signal-caller continues to make mistake after mistake for Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles.

In Week 6, the Eagles are taking on the tough Baltimore Ravens defense, with Wentz having a first half to forget. Turnovers have become an issue for Wentz, with him coughing up the ball against Baltimore, leading to a Ravens touchdown. Enough is enough. It’s time for Jalen Hurts to take the field.

It feels like it’s Jalen Hurts’ time to take over the offense for the Philadelphia Eagles

While Wentz entered the season with high expectations for the Eagles, he’s been a massive disappointment. Following the Week 5 loss, his numbers were truly brutal, as he had thrown for six touchdowns and nine interceptions. His QB rating of 53.2 is simply horrific as well.

With Wentz running the offense, the Eagles are currently 1-3-1, with a loss to Baltimore feeling like a lock before the end of the day. This team just has no mojo on offense, and with Wentz not delivering any magic, and turning the ball over with consistency, it’s time for a change under center.

Enter Hurts. The former Oklahoma and Alabama standout has been waiting patiently for his opportunity to run things for Pederson. Philadelphia used a second-round pick on Hurts for good reason. He’s a gamer and his dual-threat abilities drove opposing defensive coordinators nuts whenever he was on the field during his college days.

It feels like only a matter of time before Pederson sends Wentz to the bench to see what his rookie signal-caller can do. If you ask Eagles’ fans, the time is now.

Next. Eagles woefully mismanaged DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery injuries. dark
