The Premier League season gets back underway this weekend following the international break. On Sunday, Leicester host Aston Villa at King Power Stadium. The Foxes have won three of their four opening games. Meanwhile, Villa have got off to a shocking start, winning all three of their games.
Leicester were extremely disappointing in their final game before the international break, losing 3-0 to West Ham. Manager Brendan Rodgers will have to make adjustments to his regular starting XI. Center-back Caglar Soyuncu and full-back Ricardo Pereira are both dealing with injuries. If both players are unable to play, it will test Leicester’s depth at the back. Offensively, Leicester’s attack will run through striker Jamie Vardy. The English striker leads the club with five goals this season as he chases a second consecutive Golden Boot.
In one of the most shocking days in Premier League history, Aston Villa shocked Liverpool, winning 7-2. The addition of Ross Barkley immediately paid off. Barkley signed with Villa on loan from Chelsea and provided Villa with exactly what they need in midfield. Upfront, Ollie Watkins scored a hat-trick against Liverpool and will lead the line for the Villians. While Jack Grealish is quickly emerging as one of the best English playmakers in the league. Grealish has three goals and three assists this season. If Villa are going to continue their hot start, they will need more strong performances from Barkley, Watkins and Grealish.
