The Vikings must fire Mike Zimmer and here are 3 potential replacements
Brian Daboll, Bills offensive coordinator
Let’s say the Vikings want to try and fix Cousins’ mechanics instead of abandoning ship. If so, Daboll could be the leading man for his work with Josh Allen in Orchard Park. After his rookie season, the former No. 7 pick looked to be a lost cause. Entering the midway point of his third season, Allen now is a Pro Bowl-caliber gunslinger and right in the early talks for MVP.
Daboll has helped raise Allen’s completion, turnover and overall rating in just two seasons. Buffalo’s offense has gone from the middle of the pack to a top-10 unit in one brief season, and become the identity of Sean McDermott’s system. On top of that, Daboll will have the backing of Nick Saban and Bill Belichick when going into for interviews; perhaps you’ve heard of them?
Money talks and the Vikings will owe Cousins plenty of it. Instead of viewing it as a lost cause, Spielman and Wilf could bring in a talented offensive mind to steer him in the best direction for success. But if all else fails, they’ll be in line to draft another name either next April or in 2022.
