(Video) Myles Garrett, Mike Tomlin share pregame moment in first rematch since helmet swing incident
There appears to be no drama or beef between Myles Garrett and Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
For any NFL fans hoping there’d be some pre-game fireworks between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon, that won’t be the case. While no one has forgotten about Myles Garrett smashing Mason Rudolph’s head with his helmet last season, both teams are ready to move forward from that horrific incident.
We saw that on Sunday during warmups, as Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin went to go meet with Garrett before the opening kick. As you can see in the video below, there’s no drama between the two whatsoever.
Myles Garrett and Mike Tomlin shared a special moment on the field on Sunday
Both Tomlin and Garrett evened embraced one another for several moments leading up to the big-time AFC North clash. Of course last year’s game was a major black eye for Garrett and the Browns, but again, it looks like both teams are set to move forward and forget about what happened.
Moving forward, both teams are more worried about winning the division. The Steelers are a perfect 4-0 entering their Week 6 tilt with Cleveland, while the Browns are 4-1, suffering their lone loss of the year in Week 1 against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Ben Roethlisber has returned from his elbow injury and been impressive this season, while Chase Claypool is coming off his four-score game last weekend. The Browns’ offense has been hard to stop, but Pittsburgh will see if they’re up to the task of slowing down Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. and others.
As for Garrett, his focus on Sunday will solely be on making tackles and doing everything he can to get in Roethlisberger’s face.
