Philadelphia Eagles

WR. Cincinnati Bengals. John Ross. 11. player. 56.

It’s no secret, the Eagles have been hindered by injuries, specifically on offense, over the past two seasons. Players such as Alshon Jeffery, Desean Jackson, Miles Sanders, Dallas Goedert….you get the point. Depth is always necessary, and that’s what John Ross can provide. Similar to other players on this list, Ross is buried on his depth chart in Cincinnati.

Ross entered the league in 2017. He is most notable for breaking the 40 yard dash record at the NFL Combine. His best game to date was Week 1, 2019 when he racked up 7 catches, 158 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Ross has talent, and speed, obviously. The Eagles need pass catchers and Ross is one of the cheapest to acquire out there. The Bengals clearly like other options more than him.

Put Ross in the right situation and he could be Desean Jackson 2.0. It would be fitting if he achieved his full potential with Desean as his mentor. The Eagles desperately need someone to stretch the field. They have Ertz and, when healthy, Goedert to cover the middle of the field but they lack that true speed you need to keep the defense honest.

This trade wouldn’t make the Eagles Super Bowl contenders, but it is one that’ll improve their depth and give them another target to throw to outside when everyone else gets injured.
