Previous: . New England Patriots. 12. team. 47. . 2-3

Bill Belichick’s club had an unexpected off-week and the Patriots finally took the field against the visiting Broncos. The New England defense wound up limiting Denver to 288 total yards, picked off Drew Lock twice and kept Vic Fangio’s club out of the end zone. But the Pats also gave up 135 yards rushing while the offense only totaled 117 yards on the ground. Belichick’s team gave up the ball three times and now has 10 turnovers in five contests.

4-2. Previous: . Los Angeles Rams. 11. team. 51.

A year ago, the Rams were swept by the 49ers for the first time since 2016. The clubs met again on Sunday night and Sean McVay’s club was down 21-6 at intermission and the Los Angeles’ offense was limited to just 102 total yards. The team’s potent pass rush, which had totaled 20 sacks in its first five games, recorded zero traps of Niners’ quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. And McVay’s team has now three straight in this longtime NFC West rivalry.

New Orleans Saints. . team. 15. . 3-2. Previous:

The Saints have won the NFC South each of the previous three seasons but Sean Payton’s club doesn’t look like it’s quite in sync yet. Dennis Allen’s defense has had its issues early and entering Week 6 were tied with the Falcons in terms of allowing the most TD passes (15) in the league. Running back Alvin Kamara is off to blistering start but veteran quarterback Drew Brees seems to miss wide receiver Michael Thomas, who could finally return this week.
