FanDuel DFS Golf: ZOZO Championship Player Selections

This week, the PGA Tour presents the FanDuel/DFS community with the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood. Let’s take a look at this event from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood!

Xander Schauffele $11,600

The American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top five finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the Tour Championship.

In relation to this week’s current listed ZOZO Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Xander ranks fifth in strokes gained tee to green, first in strokes gained around the green, and first in strokes gained putting.

Viktor Holland $10,100

The 23 year old has four top 20 finishes in his last five events on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the U.S. Open last month.

Bubba Watson $9,900

The two time Masters champion has four top 25 finishes in his last six events on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek last week.

In relation to this week’s current listed ZOZO Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Watson ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation), second in strokes gained on par fives, and ninth in driving distance.

It should be noted that Sherwood Country Club hosted the Hero World Challenge from 2000-2013. Bubba Watson competed in the Hero World Challenge four times. In those four events played, Watson had four top 14 finishes, including a third place result in 2013.

Russell Henley $9,200

The American finished third at last week’s CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek. After four rounds of tournament play at the CJ Cup, in relation to the field, Henley ranked 11th in GIR (greens in regulation) and fourth in putting average.

Sebastian Munoz $8,700

The 27 year old Colombian has five top 23 finishes in his last seven events on the PGA Tour, including an eight place result at the Tour Championship.

Talor Gooch $8,200

The 28 year old American finished fifth at last week’s CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek. After four rounds of tournament play at the CJ Cup, in relation to the field, Gooch ranked seventh in driving accuracy and 14th in GIR (greens in regulation).
