PSG reached the Champions League final last season but lost to Bayern Munich in the final. It was the furthest that the Parisians have gone in the tournament. The defending Ligue 1 champions have advanced out of the group stage every season since the 2012-13 season. This season, PSG are second in Ligue 1, with 15 points in their first seven games of the season. Thomas Tuchel’s team will again run through Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, and those two will have to carry the club on Tuesday. PSG are dealing with several injuries throughout the squad. Mauro Icardi, Julian Draxler, Marco Verratti, Danilo Pereira, Juan Bernat, Thilo Kehrer, and Marquinhos are among the players who could miss the game on Tuesday.
Manchester United are back in the Champions League for the first time since the 2018-19 season when they reached the quarterfinal. In the Europa League last year, United lost to eventual champions Sevilla in the semifinal. This season, the Red Devils have got off to a terrible start in the Premier League. United have six points in their first four games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have been poor in all phases of the game as players have failed to live up to lofty expectations. If United are going to win in Paris, they will need a great performance from Bruno Fernandes, who has been the club’s best player since joining them. Fernandes leads the club with three goals and two assists this season.
