Dodgers breakup no-hitter with Chris Taylor two-run homer (Video)

The Los Angeles Dodgers broke up a World Series Game 2 no-hitter in absolute style.

The majority of Game 2 of the World Series was all Tampa Bay Rays, thanks in part to the stellar pitching by ace Blake Snell. Tampa Bay put five runs on the board, thanks to two home runs by second baseman Brandon Lowe. In fact, Snell had a no-hitter going through four innings of work. Let’s just say that the Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t want to get embarrassed like that.

After walking Enrique Hernandez in the bottom of the fifth-inning, Snell surrendered a two-run home run to outfielder Chris Taylor. The Dodgers’ deficit was cut to 5-2, and just like that, Snell’s no-no turned to dust.

Dodgers finally get on the board

It appeared as though the Dodgers used up all of their hitting power on Tuesday evening, as they easily dismantled the Rays 8-3 in Game 1. In fact, Taylor went 2-for-3 in the World Series opener while knocking in one run.

As for Snell, the wheels really fell off after surrendering that homer by Taylor. The Rays right-hander walked outfielder Mookie Betts on six pitches and surrendered a single to shortstop Corey Seager, forcing manager Kevin Cash to pull him from the game. Luckily for Snell, Nick Anderson was able to get out of the jam to bring the fifth-inning to its conclusion. Snell pitched a total of 4.2 innings, where he struck out nine batters and accumulated a 3.86 ERA in his World Series debut.
