AFC South. 3. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Houston Texans. Brandin Cooks. 10

The 1-5 Houston Texans will be without a first- and second-round pick thanks to former head coach/GM Bill O’Brien’s infamous trade. Granted, Laremy Tunsil has immensely helped Deshaun Watson stay alive behind a below-average offensive line, but two years of top picks might not have been worth it. Instead, Houston needs to find ways to add more picks by trading away valuable players.

Will Fuller would be another option, but Cooks was an O’Brien pickup, meaning he’s not guaranteed a thing now. Since joining the squad, the former Rams star has played well, hauling in 27 receptions for 367 yards and scoring a pair of touchdowns. Still, with three more years on his current deal, Houston should consider moving him if they intend to rebuild from the foundation up.

This would cost Seattle a tad more, but Cooks’ production could be worth it. As a speed threat, the 27-year-old could play on the outside and work on out routes and comebacks for quality gains. If he’s not winning as a vertical threat, that likely takes the pressure off Metcalf, allowing him to win deep in single coverage.

Yes, this would make the Seahawks spend likely a mid-round pick, but speed wins. Cooks’ ability to find success at all three phases of the field should make the Seahawks an immediate frontrunner in the NFC alongside Brown’s new team.
