DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 23
The lighter but heavier side of round 5 of the DraftKings EuroLeague tournaments happens today. Two games were axed due to coronavirus concerns yesterday, cutting the slate down to three games. Today is also cut down to three games with Villeurbanne still dealing with multiple COVID cases.
There are still some injuries going on, so we’ll start there.
Out: Greg Monroe (coronavirus), Stefan Jovic (ankle), Jaycee Carroll (knee), Victor Claver (foot), Yovel Zoosman (hamstring), Fabien Causeur (coronavirus),
Questionable: Alex Abrines (ankle), Anthony Randolph (undisclosed), Alberto Abalde (knee), Sergey Monia (undisclosed),
It appears that Abalde will play. Given the slow start of Randolph, Abalde should have a decent role if this news is accurate.
Yesterday’s slate was a mess with the cancellations. If you didn’t have Jordan Loyd, you had no shot at cashing. I had him in two lineups and missed the money line by less than a point. I had too much Mitoglu to have a good day.
Often early in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
