3 trades Steelers should make to pass the Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers need to make some trades to pass the Baltimore Ravens.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for their huge game this weekend against the Tennessee Titans in the battle of the unbeaten teams. But on Thursday morning, the Steelers saw the rival Baltimore Ravens make a huge move in acquiring edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue from the Minnesota Vikings to add to their already impressive defense. Not only that, but they plan to sign former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant to their practice squad.

With the Ravens just one game behind for first place in the AFC North, the Steelers need to make some moves at the upcoming trade deadline to keep the Ravens at bay. Here are three players that the Steelers should target.

The Steelers boast one of the more complete defenses in the entire NFL. However, they were dealt a huge blow last week, when star inside linebacker Devin Bush tore his ACL against the Cleveland Browns. Losing the quarterback of your defense is hard to overcome, but the Steelers can change that by making a move at the deadline.

Jarrad Davis of the Detroit Lions has been a name linked to Pittsburgh, and it make sense. Davis hasn’t panned out the way the Lions would have liked, and it certainly didn’t help that he was the selection of former head coach Jim Caldwell. With Matt Patricia in charge, the Lions opted to decline his fifth-year option and he took a back seat to the likes of Jamie Collins and Jahlani Tavai so he’s a free agent at the end of the season.

Davis has the opportunity to join a talented Steelers defensive squad and to make an immediate impact. Most importantly, the Steelers actually brought Davis in for a pre-draft meeting back in 2017, and according to The Athletic, head coach Mike Tomlin “loved him coming out of Florida.” It’s a match that makes perfect sense, and it wouldn’t cost much.
